Kaitlyn Verfuerth is an accomplished former American wheelchair tennis player and a current paracanoe athlete. Born on August 12, 1985, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, Verfuerth turned pro in 2000 and competed in wheelchair tennis until 2019. She reached her highest singles ranking of No. 10 in April 2009 and also excelled in doubles, achieving the same ranking in July 2008.
Her Paralympic journey includes competing in the 2004, 2008, and 2016 Paralympic Games. Throughout her tennis career, Verfuerth garnered notable successes, including reaching the quarterfinals at the US Open in 2015 and securing medals at the Parapan American Games, with golds in both singles and doubles in 2007.
After retiring from tennis due to the extensive travel demands of the sport, Verfuerth took up paracanoeing, influenced by meeting the United States' paracanoe coach during the 2016 Paralympic Games.
