A native of Alicante, Spain, Alfredo Barcelo has left an indelible mark on the world of tennis through his strategic coaching prowess and unwavering dedication to the sport. As the former assistant tennis coach at the University of Indianapolis, Barcelo played an instrumental role in guiding the team to unprecedented success, including achieving the prestigious title of the number 1 team in the nation for NCAA Division II. Under his tutelage, the team reached the ITA Indoor National Championship final and the NCAA National Tournament Final Four, showcasing Barcelo's ability to inspire excellence both on and off the court. Beyond collegiate coaching, Barcelo has extended his expertise to the professional realm, coaching WTA players with his wealth of experience and passion for the game. Currently, Barcelo continues to enrich the tennis community as he shares his coaching talents at Portage Country Club, where he works with both adults and juniors, drawing from his own experiences as a top-ranked junior player in Spain.
